RT3S new problems

Post by IZ2NAB » Thu Sep 14, 2023 1:08 pm

New problems on RT3S and Opengd77. After turning it off, the RTX never turns back on, the screen remains black and to turn it back on you have to turn it off and turn it on again by pressing the two side buttons, above and below the PTT. The TS does not change from the rtx options, it always remains TS 2. It often automatically goes to SCAN. The transmit power mode always remains fixed at 1W.

Hi Giancarlo
First of all, what firmware version are you using?
It can also help to know if you have done a reset and the problem continues.
Have you tried a different codeplug?

Sounds familiar.

You have to tell us which version of the firmware and CPS you're using.

Cheers.

Sounds like suspend mode on MK22 radios

But this is a STM32 radio

Sounds like unmatching CPS/FW (already happened not that long ago, with "auto TX" symptom).
Or corrupted FW bin file.

But details are missing, definitely.

Good morning, when the fault occurred, I had installed the firmware version: MD9600-CSV-GPS(2571V5)-P26.45.bin + OpenMDUV380.bin and the CPS was OpenGD77CPSInstaller_R2023.08.01.01- From day 13-09- 2023, instead the following is installed: Open GD77 Built: 20230903175528 fd61a77 D and the CPS OpenGD77CPSInstaller_R2023.09.10.01. The codeplug has always remained the one created by the first CPS. However, the described failure has not yet occurred.

Wrong donnor file.

MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin is the only one you must use, nothing else, as documented.

And to ensure the OpenGD77 firmware is not corrupted (that happens), redownload it.

I would strongly suggest to install all latest CPS/firmware, the ones you're using aren't.
