TIDRadio TD DP738 DMR HT

Post by W7ML » Fri Aug 16, 2024 5:06 pm

I see TIDRadio has released a new “budget” DMR HT

Any chance that OpenGD77 can be supported on this radio?

No.

I can't see anyone bothering to spend a year of their spare time reverse engineering and hacking yet another unknown Chinese radio, especially when there are multiple much cheaper radios already supported

Could you please let me know which $85 and cheaper are still available for new in the marketplace DMR HTs that are already supported by OpenGD77?

I LOVE my Radioddity RD-5R and Baofeng DM-5R, both of which I purchased new for about $75 each. But when I come across Newbies to DMR who want, like I did, an inexpensive entre into DMR HTs, these models (which support UV-5R style accessories, including their high capacity batteries) are no longer available.

"Unknown" is a relative term: TIDRadio is certainly not unknown to me, even though I have yet to purchase one of their HTs. I did buy their TIDRadio ODmaster Bluetooth programming dongle for analog radios.

Thank you!

Not as inexpensive as the original RD-5Rs at $75; I see it is about $90 on Amazon.

Try a different marketplace. I can see DM1701 on AliExpress for much cheaper than that
