Its also occurred to me that there is no audible indication that the channel has been changed. This is possibly something which I need to add.

And with reference to the backlight, perhaps the backlight also needed to be triggered if the channel has been changed.

Both of these are great idea.
The 5 km trigger is more than enough for me, but I can’t say for someone else that might have a need to go down to 1 km.

Thank you again, this is great!!!

I think I'll change the options to 1km, 5km, 10km and 20km and let people try it to see if 1km is too small a radius of travel.

I'll also add a beep and trigger the backlight if the channel is changed after sorting

OK.

I've made the changes for the beep and also turning on the backlight

I decided not to use 1km radius, as this would probably cause the channel to change too frequently. However I can change this in the future if there is a good reason for a 1km raduis setting

Can comfirm that the V2 firmware update appears to be working fine. Can`t explain why it did not work first time, other than perhaps I missed a Validation on one of the settings that I had reset.

I think the reason for not having the abilty to update every 1km is a very wise decision on all the points you highlighted Roger, with the audio signal when it changes repeater as well as the backlight illumination is more than enough of a distraction whilst driving.

I will update to the latest Firmware today and report back over the next couple of days.

Daniel, Ref the backlight settings, many thanks for the info, guilty of not reading all the info available. lol.

Again many thank to Roger and all the team for all there time they are putting into OpenGD77 project.

I have this version installed and can confirm with my morning commute, it is working, beep and blacklight come on when the radio re-sort.

However, I think there is something wrong with the DMR ID Loader in the newest CPS. While I was installing this latest version of the firmware, I took the opportunity to update the DMR ID to the radio. I use my custom DMR ID URL (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/KA1CM ... n/user.csv), but this morning the radio display what seems to be the database of the default URL. I'm not sure if it is my fault, I will check and upload again tonight, will report back.

Update: there is nothing wrong with the CPS, it was my fault. I might forgot to change the URL the last time. It is working good now.

More update: Today I drive around on my normal route. There is a traffic on the radio while I'm aprooching the spot where the radio usually change from one repeater to the next one. I can confirm, the radio does not re-sort during receiving. Great feature.

Thanks for testing

We are cleaning up a few things and renaming Distance Sort to Roaming etc, and hopefully we will be able to release it as a public Beta at the weekend

Having uploaded the latest firmware, I can confirm the V2 version works perfectly, even noticed when driving around over the last couple of days while having a cluster zone selected (Group of repeaters linked) that the repeater change over when in use was perfect, the backlight confirmed the switch over to the next nearest repeater, and also the Audable did not overide the speach, therefore no break in the receive transmission.
This latest upgrade to the OpenGD77 firmware has taken it to another level.

Thanks for testing.

We are working on a few more changes, but nothing drastic, and will hopefully do a full public release at the weekend for all radios.
i.e it will also work on the UV380/RT-3S which have GPS fitted, or for that matter a GD77 if people have modified it to include a GPS
